SHIRLEE WOHL, Ph.D.

Shirlee.Whol

Shirlee Wohl was a graduate student in the Sabeti lab from 2014 to 2018. Her research focused on using genomic methods to understand and respond to viral outbreaks. She was particularly interested in understanding viral transmission within and between hosts. She had the opportunity to contribute to incredible team-driven collaborations in response to Ebola, Zika, and Mumps virus outbreaks and helped drive forward projects that enabled us to understand transmission of these pressing viral threats.

Shirlee did her postdoctoral research with Justin Lessler in the Infectious Disease Dynamics group at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is now a Lead Investigator at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and continues to collaborate with the Sabeti Lab as the Project Director for the New England Pathogen Genomics Center of Excellence.

“Working in the Sabeti lab was an amazing opportunity to be surrounded by individuals who are passionate, highly motivated, and incredibly supportive all at once.”
