Patrick Brehio is a Research Associate with the Sabeti Lab. A Rhode Island native, he earned his BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2014. As an undergraduate he studied dengue virus-cell interactions under the direction of Dr. Alan Rothman and Dr. Carey Medin. He started at the Broad Institute working in the Whole Exome Sequencing group of the Genomics Platform in 2015 where he learned about process improvement strategies and automation troubleshooting. After joining the Sabeti Lab in early 2017, he hopes to take what he’s learned from the Genomics Platform in order to continue pursuing his passion for disease research.
When not in the lab he enjoys reading, music, dancing, traveling and drawing.
